Fellowship Doctrinal Statement
WE BELIEVE:
1. The Old and New Testaments are the inspired and authoritative Word of God. In the Bible, we find the revelation of God's will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and Final authoirty for Christian life.
2. There is one God, the Creator of all things, who is infinetly perfect and eternally existent in the three persons- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
3. Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of all men. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest and Advocate.
4. Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost. Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only grounds for justification and salvation.
5. Water Baptism, The Lord's Supper and Footwashing are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. However, they are not to be regarded as means of salvations.(Matt. 28:19, Luke 22:19-20, John 13:12-15).
6. The present, supernatural ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, During this age He indwells, guides, instructs, and empowers the believer for godly living and service. Every believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues as the initial physical evidence. (Acts 1:8 2:4, 10:44-48, and 19:1-6)
7. Every born-again, Spirit-filled believer should maintain a consistent, personal, devotional life, boty by praying with the understanding and in praying with the spirit, and by daily study and application of the Word of God. This will be evident by holiness of lifestyle, godliness of character and a love of the brethren. (John 13:34-35)
8. The true Church is composed of all those who are born again. Through this new birth, we are united together in the Body of Christ. Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church. Every local Church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs.
9. The imminent second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ has a vital bearing on the personal life, stewardship, and service of the believer.
10. There will be a bodily resurrection of the dead of the unbeliever to judgement and everlasting conscious punishment and of the believer to everlasting joy with the Lord.
